Screen printing on fabric can involve free-form image making or controlled repeat patterns on yardage. We’ll begin the workshop by learning about appropriate screen meshes for textile printing and then move onto stretching our screens. Next, we’ll cover the full range of stencil making techniques, from simple paper cut stencils to photo stencils. We’ll learn how to create repeat patterns with our images, and print multiple colors in registration. Participants will be able to print on any fabric from yardage to t-shirts and will learn about the inks appropriate for textile printing as well as proper ink mixing methods.
