Participants will employ water-based screen print techniques; hand drawn and photo methods; and composition and color theory to maximize the successful translation of their work into screen print. Through demonstration, discussion, and research we will consider the means by which our images can best be served by silkscreen processes. This printing intensive equips participants with a wide range of direct screen techniques, including hand-drawn films, paper stencils, photogram, color multiplication, and “tight” registration methods to ensure powerful results. Class time will include daily demonstrations, troubleshooting with instructor support, experimentation, and group discussion.
