Perfect Pitchers with Rachel Dubicki

Four-week throwing class for beginning and intermediate skill level
Tuesdays, 3 – 5 p.m., August 2 – 23
In this class we’ll focus on the fundamental aspects of a pitcher. Students will learn how to turn a wheel-thrown cylinder into a pouring vessel. We’ll cover centering, pulling walls, spout construction, handle making, and glazing. Group demonstrations will be tailored to beginning and intermediate students.

Rachel Dubicki is a Hudson Valley native. In May of 2015, she received her BFA from Alfred University where she concentrated in ceramics, making functional tableware and using the wheel as her primary tool. After undergraduate, Rachel joined WSW as a Chili Bowl Workspace Resident. Since finishing, she has moved back to the area and is now an active member of the local art community and continuing her studio practice at Women’s Studio Workshop.
