Ewa Berg is an artist based in Malmö, Sweden. Through painting and silkscreen monoprinting she stages shadowy scenes based on domestic interiors, place-specific patterns, and recurring character silhouettes. She works in series, processing where the color and the paint’s materiality form resonance to the figurative elements. Both the abstract and the figurative can be seen as ongoing dramas where either, the color or the ornament, is the leading character. Ewa holds her Masters in Art Pedagogy from Konstfack, Stockholm and has studied at Lunds University, Gothenburg University, and the San Francisco Art Institute.

During her exchange residency in the silkscreen studio, she focused on capturing the shapes of local plants and found patterns. She explored the slight skew of scale found in American goods compared to the designs and functions of products used daily in Sweden.
