Amy Schmierbach is a Kansas-based artist whose work explores the sense of touch through the use of flocking, thread, and fibers. She first came to WSW as a studio intern, then three years later she was awarded an Art-in-Education Artists’ Book Residency for her book Flowers in a box: a poem from behind the wallpaper. She holds an MFA in printmaking from Illinois State University and has exhibited work across the US and Canada. Amy is a Professor of Art at Fort Hays State University.
