Sonya Blesofsky

Sonya Blesofsky is a California-based painter and printmaker whose work investigates the impermanence and flux of urban architecture as shown in redevelopment, building decay, structural weakness, and physical layers of history. She holds a BA in Community Studies and Studio Art from the University of California Santa Cruz and her MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. During her time at the printmaking studio in Malmö, Sweden, she researched the history of the city’s local buildings and created work to memorialize and honor the ever-changing cityscape.
