Shelley Thorstensen

Shelley Thorstensen is an exceptional printmaker who combines techniques seamlessly in layered, colorful prints. She has been an artist-in-residence at WSW twice, in 2004 and 2005, working in our silkscreen and etching studios.

Shelley holds an undergraduate degree from Syracuse University and an MFA in printmaking from the Tyler School of Art. She teaches in the MFA Book/Print Program at the University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA. Shelley is the founder and director of Printmakers Open Forum, which offers continuing education for artists. Her work is available through Dolan/Maxwell in Philadelphia and is included in collections at the Cleveland Art Museum, Museum of Modern Art and the Royal Museum of Art, Antwerp.

Shelley has taught popular print workshops in WSW’s Summer Art Institute for 15 years. She lives and works in Oxford, PA.
