Marianne Dages

Marianne Dages is a print, book, and installation artist based in Philadelphia, PA. She works with visual repetition, translation, and language to explore how a person responds to his or her surroundings. She holds a BFA in Photography from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and was a Core Fellow at Penland School of Crafts, Penland, NC. She has taught at the University of the Arts Pre-College Program, Temple University, and Pennsylvania State University at Abington.

Marianne’s time at the Beisinghoff Printmaking Residency in Diemelstadt-Rhoden, Germany, was directed at encapsulating one place and time in images, creating a series of experimental letterpress prints. While in the studio, she pushed herself to work with a looser hand, create monotypes, and experiment with layering work with the machines.
