Katie Grove is a fiber artist, nature educator, and printmaker based in Rosendale, NY and 2016 Ora Schneider Regional Residency Grant artist. She holds a BFA in Printmaking from SUNY New Paltz and studied Fibers Art at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University, Philadelphia. Her art often is created with local natural materials and centers around themes of storytelling, intrigue, and artifacts. While at WSW, Katie continued an ongoing project of disassembling birds’ nest to draw attention to time, persistence, and task found in nature by making a series of ten etchings, nine of which illustrated small, individual forest findings a bird wove into its home.
