Judith Hoyt

A Hudson Valley-based artist, Judith Hoyt has been working with found metal, paper collage, and encaustic wax for thirty five years. At WSW, she produced her artist’s book A Domestic Bestiary.

Judith earned a BFA in Printmaking at the State University of New York at New Paltz. She has shown her work across the U.S., with solo exhibitions most recently at Wired Gallery, High Falls, NY, Carrie Haddad Gallery, Hudson, NY and The Works Gallery, Philadelphia, PA. Group shows include Recycle, Reuse, Recreate, which traveled to several countries in Africa, and Recreation/Re-Creation at the Noyes Museum in New Jersey.

In addition to her WSW residency, Judith has been Artist in Residence at Ballinglen Arts Foundation in Ireland as well as the MacDowell Colony in New Hampshire, Jentel Foundation, Wyoming and Art Park, Lewiston, NY. She has been a recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Crafts and a “Best in Show” award from Craft Boston.
