Anne Louise Blicher

Anne Louise Blicher is an artist living and working in Denmark. She studied painting at Florence Academy of Art and printmaking at The Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm. During her residency, Anne Louise created two large banners depicting various American and Danish monuments in a collage-like composition. Like other works across her practice, she subverted viewer expectation by replacing these statue faces with those of homeless women from Denmark and adding glow in the dark ink to outline each figure. As light shines on Anne Louise’s banners, the outsiders of a nation become monumental.
